GNMUG is a user group committed to helping people have a happy Apple experience.

Omaha has an InfraGard chapter. InfraGard is an information sharing program between the U.S. Government (represented by the FBI) and an association of businesses, schools and local law enforcement agencies. The goal is to increase the security of critical United State's infrastructures.

Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) is an international organizatin of system auditors. ISACA Omaha is the local chapter. A very nice group of people.

The Mid-America LIG's goal is to provide a local resource for IT professionals on the happenings in Service Management. This largely has to do with helping people implement Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) a set of concepts and techniques for managing information technology (IT) infrastructure, development, and operations.

The Nebraska Acrobat User Group was formed to help people better use Adobe Acrobat's product line as well as PDF technologies in general.

Adobe Captivate is an electronic learning tool, that has been used to do quizes software demonstrations and simulations. It has also been used for doing games and podcasts :-) The Nebraska Adobe Captivate User Group has been formed to help people trying out these new technologies.

NEbraskaCERT is a local security organization. They have monthly meetings Cyber Security Forums and also arrange the annual NEbraskaCERT conference. They also offer a Security Professional Training class for people pursuing Security Certifications.

Coldfusion is an application server and software development framework for the creation of dynamic websites and can also be used for general purpose application development. The Nebraska Coldfusion User Group helps people better leverage this technology.

IEEE is the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The IEEE organization is responsible for many of the standards that are used for communications. A few of these are IEEE 802.11 (Wireless standard), IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet standards).

NNUI is a group committed to helping adminstrators better use Novell produts. This includes things such as OpenSUSE and some of the other technologies that Novell devlops such as Netware and Zenworks.

The Omaha Cisco User Group was formed to help people use Cisco Networking products. One of the cool things they have is a study group to help people acheive their Cisco certifications.

The Omaha Dynamic Language User Group is a user group for the users and developers who use dynamic languages such as PERL, Python, Smalltalk and Ruby. They have monthly meetings.

Rational Software (now owned by IBM) is largely best known for its Rational Rose IDE products. The Omaha Rational User Group helps people use the Rational product line and also talks about the larger design issues such as the use of the Unified Modelling Language (UML).

Omaha SPIN is a user group organized to foster software quality assurance, software engineering and software process improvement through techniques such as CMMI, Agile development and Extreme Programming.

The Ubuntu Nebraska Local Community Team is an advocacy group for Ubuntu Linux. They help support groups such as the Omaha Linux User Group (OLUG) during OLUG's installfests. They also provide demos and other resources for people and groups lookint to move to Ubuntu Linux. This group also welcomes users of Ubuntu variants such as Edubuntu and Kubuntu.

Websphere is an application server developed by IBM. It is used for many e-business applications and is a popular example of middleware software. OWUG is a usergroup that helps with the use/deployment/maintenance of the Websphere software.
