We (Aaron Grothe and George Neill) are a couple of people who have been looking for a good resource listing of IT resources in the Omaha Metro area and having not found one, we've built ITinOmaha.org. We hope you like it.
There is a bit more information about us and the site on the
about page
ITinOmaha is running on a Linux x86 based system. We are using
GNU/Linux with PHPicalender for our calendaring software.
The Creative Commons license is a license that allows for the sharing of information and ideas in a way in which it may be reused is clearly explained.
We use the commercial attribution license ourselves. You may use the data from our site, but please make sure to attribute us as a source.
We've redesigned the site using PHP icalendar as our backend. This was done to improve security, make it easier to add other group's calendars and give us RSS feed capability.
They were never very popular so we've decided to do away with them and instead support ical feeds from the site.
Icalendar is a standard for doing event scheduling. Mozilla's Sunbird, Novell's Evolution and a lot of other software supports .ical as a standard feed format.
Schedules can change and meetings can be cancelled. We try our best to keep up to date, but for the final word you should probably subscribe to the e-mail lists for the groups you are interested in as they are the final word.
Please drop us a line at webmaster@itinomaha.org. Please also let us know why you want your site removed.
This last part is optional, but we're curious to why somebody would want to be removed.
Please send us an e-mail at webmaster@itinomaha.org and we'll get you added as soon as we can. Please include a link to your site and a bit of info so we can get everything set up.
